Family Firm and Entrepreneurship
Beginning in fall of 2023, the Family Firm Institute partnered with the Joseph C. Prince Entrepreneurship Program to further support students in integrating empirical inquiry within and across individuals, organizations, and industries. To do so, and with the assistance of newcomer, Graduate Assistant, Sarah Ward, the partnership developed the Hatmob “Life Plan” Portfolio Deck.
Hatmob “Life Plan” Portfolio Deck
The Hatmob “Life Plan” Portfolio Deck is an artifact developed by the student that symbolizes resources and knowledge gleaned during their matriculation. It is able to be employed in conjunction with research projects and similar assignment across semesters as the owner associates various cards with aspects of their project(s).
Once registered by the Hatmob, the “Life Plan” Portfolio Deck marks the membership of the student-owner in the Hatmob either on the Executive Board or the Fieldwork Team. The first registered Hatmob “Life Plan” Portfolio Deck was that of former student, Mr. Logan Flynn. Succeeding Ms. Oyewale as the Chairperson of the Executive Board, Mr. Flynn completed his fieldwork experience in December of 2023; once officially registered, Mr. Flynn’s Deck became Hatmob “Life Plan” Portfolio Deck No. 1.
Mr. Flynn’s successor, Ms. Mishell Marshall, a digital arts major, embarked on her fieldwork experience and became one of the Undergraduate Chairpersons for Executive Board of the Hatmob in spring of 2024:
