Fieldwork
The Hatmob experience in Fieldwork involves a deep dive into empirical research for the purpose of organizational development, and qualifies for an Experiential Learning Requirement (ELR) in the School of Business Administration. To complete the Hatmob Fieldwork Experience, one must:
- Complete the online Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Social and Behavioral Research course to which Stetson provides a subscription,
- Register a Hatmob Portfolio Deck,
- Attend/assist with a majority of Executive Board cultural credit events (e.g., Business Bites) each semester of membership on the Fieldwork Team, and
- Either:
- Enroll in one of the research-driven courses (e.g., FENT 455) and complete a 1,500-word organizational development plan OR
- Complete (and document) at least 70 hours of fieldwork across at least two (2) semesters, and
- Submit an original work (e.g., graphic, story, photograph, recipe, song) inspired by your research for publication in the Hatmob Virtual Hat Collection Lookbook.
Executive Board
Membership on the Hatmob Executive Board is a campus leadership experience that also qualifies for an Experiential Learning Requirement (ELR) in the School of Business Administration. To be a member of the Executive Board of the Hatmob, one must:
- Complete the online Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Social and Behavioral Research course to which Stetson provides a subscription,
- Register a Hatmob Portfolio Deck,
- Meet the 3.0 minimum G.P.A. requirement and tryout via peer reviewed empirical research project formal presentation proposal,
- Contribute to the team-based faculty alliance empirical research project each semester of membership on the Executive Board Team (e.g., data collection, article review, writing original copy, editing),
- Conduct a minimum of 70 hours of work on a faculty inspired and/or supported empirical research project across at least two (2) semesters, and
- Facilitate at least 1 Executive Board cultural credit event (e.g., Business Bite) each semester of membership on the Executive Board Team.
There are a limited number of spots on the Hatmob Executive Board. Tryouts may be conducted on a rolling basis if not annually.
